Nanee's and Papa's backyard is unlike any other. Half of it is covered in that green-grass carpet used by miniature golf courses. The other half is a play area and garden. There is not one blade of real grass back there. Needless to say, the kids think it's really cool to break out the golf clubs and hit balls. Here they are working on their swings.
The dump truck that brought mulch to our neighbor's driveway mesmerized all four kids seen here for several minutes. From left, Austin, Katherine, Colin, and Jack thoroughly enjoyed watching the delivery of the mulch we ordered. Afterward, the driver gave the kids some candy. Apparently, he's a big draw among the pre-school crowd, and he comes prepared with treats.
There's my future scientist, Jack, watching over his little egg experiment. He discovered a new color, and there's no better way to describe it except "yellow-purple." Well, happy Easter (belated)! Life has been full and fun, and I don't get on here as much as I'd like, but I did want to note that this is the anniversary of our blog--one whole year of blogging fun! I'm so glad I started this "scrapbook," and yes, that's what this is! My boys do not have baby books...there, I admitted it! This is much more fun--for all of us. There are rainy days when I pull all my boyz up to the computer to look back at all the fun we've had together. Jack loves the videos--especially when he's the star:) So, Happy Anniversary...to us! Thanks to Auntie La-La for the bunny ears--we got a lot of use out of them.
Our little Sam-Sam is growing up! He's taking lots of steps independently, he's an avid digger, he loves fruit, and he has developed quite a vocabulary. He can say:
The boys and I enjoyed a fun day at the Lazy 5 ranch in Mooresville with friends from our playgroup. The animals came right up to our horse-pulled trailer (the kids each held a bucket of food, which I think helped distinguish them from the food:)). We saw a camel, ostriches, deer, pot-bellied pigs, goats, a rhino, a zebra, giraffes, holstein cows, monkeys--you name it! Jack and I hadn't been to the ranch in two years (we missed last year due to illness), but it has become a much-anticipated annual trip!
