A sample prayer said before dinner:
"Fold your hands like this" (as he demonstrates)
"Dear Jesus, thank you for our food. Thank you for our God. Thank you for Kapprin (Katherine) playing with Jack. Thank you for Noah riding bikes all day long. And go to the pond. Thank you for Jackson. In service. Jesus name, Amen.

Happy Easter (and Happy Anniversary!)
There's my future scientist, Jack, watching over his little egg experiment. He discovered a new color, and there's no better way to describe it except "yellow-purple." Well, happy Easter (belated)! Life has been full and fun, and I don't get on here as much as I'd like, but I did want to note that this is the anniversary of our blog--one whole year of blogging fun! I'm so glad I started this "scrapbook," and yes, that's what this is! My boys do not have baby books...there, I admitted it! This is much more fun--for all of us. There are rainy days when I pull all my boyz up to the computer to look back at all the fun we've had together. Jack loves the videos--especially when he's the star:) So, Happy Anniversary...to us! Thanks to Auntie La-La for the bunny ears--we got a lot of use out of them.
In Sam's own Words
A Day at the Ranch
The boys and I enjoyed a fun day at the Lazy 5 ranch in Mooresville with friends from our playgroup. The animals came right up to our horse-pulled trailer (the kids each held a bucket of food, which I think helped distinguish them from the food:)). We saw a camel, ostriches, deer, pot-bellied pigs, goats, a rhino, a zebra, giraffes, holstein cows, monkeys--you name it! Jack and I hadn't been to the ranch in two years (we missed last year due to illness), but it has become a much-anticipated annual trip!
Jack's First Dentist Appointment
Jack got a clean bill of (tooth) health at the dentist earlier this month. He chatted up the hygienist with tales of Lightning McQueen in the Cars movie, and--wouldn't you know it--she presented him with a new toothbrush with the Cars character Chick Hicks. She laughed and admitted she did not know the characters' names, so Jack helped her sort them all out.
